Bull Canyon

Rating: 3. This is an easy 3 (maybe it should be a 2.5) but low range is needed for a few small areas. There are a few areas in the wash that has small boulders and can be washed out that would be difficult for a cross-over or low-clearance vehicle.

Location: North of Moab, UT.

Trailhead: The road is located on US Highway 191 5.2 miles north of the Arches entrance. The road is on the west side. It is the Gemini Bridges road. GPS coordinates are 38°39'22.0"N 109°40'37.3"W (38.656113, -109.677037).

Bull Canyon road is a left turn off of the Gemini Bridges road. It is 5.3 miles after you leave the pavement. Coordinates of this turn are 38°35'48.4"N 109°40'51.8"W (38.596772, -109.681063). The turn off is well marked.

This is a fun road that goes down a canyon and ends near the bottom of Gemini Bridges. The road used to go all the way to the bridges, but now it is a short hike (less than 0.5 miles) to see the bridges. These are spectacular and well worth the trip.

There is also a small spur to the left that takes you to an overlook. It takes you to an edge of a deep canyon and takes you to the top of a sheer, tall cliff. The view is amazing. There is a sign that marks the road to the overlook.

Here are the GPX and KML files.
